Mid November, little panic, (I don't panic much, I just think), how do I rearrange the decorations to still put on a good display?  That steel frame was the first thing to find a new home, one that it couldn't do any damage from, laid on the ground behind the water feature in the front garden.  The Snowman, Santa and Christmas tree all taking there places once more.
Hang on !  What's that on there with them?  A penguin, yes, a penguin we bought about 4 years ago and has only just joined the display.

How do you get rope light silhouettes to stand up on a sloping canopy roof?  Answer.  Bring on the Chain Gang.  Ugh . . . . .    Let me explain.  The shapes themselves will slide down the roof under there own weight,  so,  on the bottom edge I attached two pieces of chain.  On the top however,  chain would not have been good enough as it wouldn't have prevented the shapes from falling towards the house.  I used a length of aluminium extrusion between the hook on the wall and the top of the shape.  Even a not so 'mild wind' would have a problem bringing these down.

And there it is, My Christmas display for 2005 in all its glory.
